Boosting UK economy

In my opinion i think the Olympics has boosted the economy a bit but not enough to make a Huge difference also the rate of unemployment is still the sameOlympics did not make a huge difference in common people lives that are living in the borough of the games that happened. i have not seen any changes in my local area which is bow, tower hamlet and it is only 5 min away from the Olympic park. the government claim that they are investing money in sports to inspire a generation, i think that is not true, it is just the Olympic excitement.

David Cameron has said confidently that the UK economy would get a £13 billion boost over he next four years due to the Olympics spend. However £13 billion is not a massive number in economic terms. below there is a chart showing how the Olympic spending has boosted the UK economy

retailers were the second largest sub sector that was benefited from the Olympics because their sales have increased. Also the diamond jubilee has also chased extra sales. after the Olympics retailers have grappled with confirmation that UK economy is in recession and the customer confidence is very fragile.
